In today’s world, where biology and technology are merging faster than ever, the roles of bioinformaticians and programmers are often seen as interchangeable. After all, both write code, analyze data, and use computers to solve problems. Yet, beneath the surface, their missions, skills, and mindsets are profoundly different. A programmer may build software to make a computer work efficiently, but a bioinformatician writes code to make biology make sense.
